Responsibility requires training
An important aspect of our responsibility model is the investment in competency and training within alcohol and drug-related problems. All of Stureplansgruppen’s employees are continuously taught about serving alcohol responsibly and about narcotics issues, but also about first aid and fire protection.

A natural part of the training comprises the courses arranged by the STAD project (Stockholm Prevents Alcohol and Drug Problems). The project has been run by Stockholm County Council in cooperation with The City of Stockholm since 1995 and aims to reduce violence and damage related to alcohol consumption and drug abuse at Stockholm’s restaurants. Key to the project is also developing a restaurant culture that counteracts the serving of alcohol to minors and over-serving. This objective is shared by Stureplansgruppen. Our CEO, Vimal Kovac, attaches great importance to these issues and, over the past eight years, has been involved with the reference group for the STAD project.

Stureplansgruppen’s training programme does not only fulfil all statutory requirements, but also strives to guarantee the observance of the training. Therefore, Stureplansgruppen has taken the initiative to develop its own programme for training and competence development that is supported by regular check-ups. This initiative reflects the strong responsibility for safety and service felt by Stureplansgruppen and distinguishes us from among the players that are active within the nightclub and restaurant industry.
